Gabriel Gutierrez. San Antonio, Texas.

Police responded to a call for a shooting at 27th and Poplar Street on September 9, 1972. When they arrived, the police found a white 1963 Chevy in the intersection with the engine running and no one around. An officer was checking the vehicle when a witness came up stating he saw two hippie-looking men run off. The officer started checking the area for the men last seen running and found Gabriel Gutierrez lying on the ground, shot to death. Gutierrez was 21 years old at the time of his death.

During the investigation, information came to detectives that a woman might have been with the two men who were seen running away from the scene of the shooting.

Over the years, several leads have been investigated and suspects developed, but not enough evidence has been found to file a case against anyone. Family members have contacted the SAPD Homicide Unit, looking for closure.
